Inlaid Paper Trimmers

CKO offers four different grades of material, assuring our customers of the proper blade to fit their cutting requirements. The following descriptions will guide you to the proper grade to fit your needs best.

CKO-I

STANDARD INLAID CARBON alloy tool steel, which is manufactured from a composite, inlaid material, utilizing the traditional two piece manufacturing method. The 1/8" thick alloy tool steel, LAID INTO the soft backing material, provides sufficient rigidity and strength to ensure that CKO paper knives will withstand the extreme cutting pressure of high lifts and coated paper.

CKO-III

HIGH CARBON, HIGH CHROME alloy tool steel which offers as much as twice the blade life of our standard CKS-I. This HCHC quality is often used for lower knives on three knife trimming machines.

CKO-IV

INLAID HIGH SPEED STEEL, which is manufactured from the traditional two piece composite knife blanks. Our HSS inlaid knives contain 18% tungsten (SKH-2) at RC 62-63, which is designed to improve blade life as much as five times that of our CKO-I quality. This "high tech" alloy is designed to be used under high production applications, to ensure an increased number of cuts between sharpening, thereby reducing cost per cutting hour.

CKO-VII

INLAID TUNGSTEN CARBIDE TIPPED knife designed to give as much as ten times the blade life between sharpening, compared to our standard CKO-I grade. These precision cutting tools must be used under optimum cutting conditions for best results.

Shear Blades for Metalworking

Straight and circular metalworking machine knives used for all shearing applications. Custom tooling made for all makes of equipment, including Cincinnati, American Hercules, Lodge & Shipley, Pacific, HTC, Her-Voss, Betenbender, Cleveland Crane, Dreis & Krump, Di-Acro, Edwards, Famco, Henry, Niagara, Pacific, Pearson, Pexto, Promecam, Pullmax, Summit, Wysong & Miles, and others.

CKO-I

STANDARD CARBON alloy tool steel, usually used in a manufacturing of shear blades for shearing equipment used in maintenance-type shearing, where life is not a major concern.

CKO-II

MID-RANGE ALLOY tool steel, which provides the highest degree of toughness, recommended for shearing of mid steel 3/8" and heavier. The durable "shock resistant" material has increased wearability over and above that of our CKO-I. When shearing stainless steel, it is recommended that you shear no more than 50% of the machines rated cutting capacity

CKO-III

INLAID CARBON HIGH CHROME alloy tool steel containing sufficient amounts of chromium to provide excellent wear resistance on lighter gauge shearing. This water-resistant tool steel is designed for shearing no more than 3/8" thick mild steel on hydraulic shears. When using this grade on mechanically controlled shears, the maximum shearing capacity is no more than ¼" thick mild steel. When shearing stainless steel, it is recommended that you shear no more than 50% of the machine’s rated cutting capacity.

CKO-IV

A true A.I.S.I. M-2 HIGH SPEED STEEL (HSS), usually used in the manufacturing of single edge shear blades, when the customer requires maximum blade life between sharpening under light capacity shearing conditions. This tool steel contains large percentages of molybdenum, which increases wear resistance, thereby maximizing the number of cuts between sharpening.

Granulating & Pelletizing Knives

Cincinnati Knife Outlet supplies machine knives used for granulating, pelletizing, and dicing all types of plastic or man-made materials.

CKO-I

STANDARD CARBON ALLOY TOOL STEEL, often supplied by the original equipment manufacturer.

CKO-III

HIGH CARBON, HIGH CHROME ALLOY TOOL STEEL (HCHC), containing sufficient amounts of chromium in the tool steel composition to provide the proper balance of wear resistance versus shock resistance. This tool steel is heat treated and tempered to the original equipment manufacturer’s specifications, thereby providing the best blade life between sharpening.

Both grades are available with FROM STOCK delivery for standard granulating machines.
